I am currently living in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, having been born and then grown up in NZ. I then fled from NZ more than 20 years ago, living near London and then in Darwin, Cairns and Brisbane Australia.
I have been travelling almost continuously since I was 18 years old. In response to a question, I tried to estimate how many flights I have taken in my life and it totals well over a thousand (three years ago I did 120 flights within one year). Travel has taught me many things. Some of my fundamental truths are;
– Nothing in life is black and white, everything is “shades of grey”.
– Treat any news delivered by mass media with extreme cynicism, because generally you are being deliberately deceived (read – lied to).
– All people’s are intrinsically good.
– Eccentricity is a higher form of sanity.
I despise television because it electronically lobotomises people and impedes the ability for individuals to form original opinions which they can intellectually defend.
My passions are photography and travel. Photography fascinates me because each shot, no matter the subject, captures a single instance of time that has never occurred before and will never occur again. A single captured glimpse into the chaos that we call life. It always amazes me.

It is a good rule in life never to apologize. The right sort of people do not want apologies, and the wrong sort take a mean advantage of them. ~P.G. Wodehouse
